KVPAC Audition Prep Instructions & Calendar

Auditions are held at KVPAC and required for membership in Senior or Junior COMPANY or for a specific “Audition Only” play. There are usually three audition dates prior to the start of each semester for all the “audition only” plays produced for the upcoming semester.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Upon arrival at the audition, actors sign in, fill out an audition form and provide a resume with a snapshot or head shot photo attached (photos can be copied and returned if necessary). In order of their arrival time, actors present privately each of the following to a panel of KVPAC directors:
  1. A prepared 1-2 minute monologue. For younger actors, a memorized poem may be substituted for the monologue, however characterization and dramatic delivery is strongly encouraged.
  2. A 1-2 minute song selection. The song may be presented a’cappella or accompanied by a CD of pre-recorded instrumental music. Singing over a vocal track is not accepted. After the final round of auditions, the panel of directors will convene to review all candidates and make selections.

Every actor will receive notice from KVPAC regarding their audition within two days of the FINAL day of auditions for each semester.
