Curriculum

The PreK @ KVPAC is a developmentally appropriate play-based preschool, focusing on fine arts and academics.

Our Academic focus is first founded in the POCET (Preschool Observation Checklist and Evaluation Tools) System. Towards the end of their final year here at the PreK we focus on Emergent Literacy and Emergent Math. Many of our preschoolers are reading by the time they graduate from The PreK at KVPAC.

With low class size numbers, as well as experienced instructors with bachelor's degrees in a variety of subjects, we create a well-rounded and excellent environment with staff whose first priority is Early Childhood Education, as well as Kindergarten Readiness in the classroom. Because of the philosophy of our preschool, "Developmentally Appropriate/Play-Based", we use monthly themes (such as Outer Space, Dinosaurs, On the Farm, etc) to introduce new Academic focuses, as well as new letters, numbers etc.

Our most important goal is to make sure learning is done through fun, exploratory, creative experiences. We highlight Academic focuses in
