The Healing Bedside Arts Program
KVPAC and Texas Children’s Hospital believe there is a dynamic therapeutic value to the Arts to sustain, nurture, and encourage individuals in varied circumstances.
KVPAC provides a therapeutic Visual Arts Outreach program at the hospital. The venture is an unique and personal Bedside Art experience, titled ‘With All Your Art’. Local artists visit children individually at their beds and within a few hours create a ‘wall-ready’ piece of art. Creating frameable art in a short amount of time is gratifying and empowering to children who are victim to health problems.
"It is so wonderful to be a part of such and important undertaking. The children we can touch at these tender times in their lives make a lifelong impact, not just on the child, but on the families as well," said KVPAC Public Relations Manager, Lisa Connolly.
Programs are run free-of-charge thanks to generous donations from Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church, Capital One and Texas Commission on the Arts.
