KVPAC History
KVPAC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in August, 2001 by a small, dedicated group of local artists. The original location was a warehouse in downtown Katy referred to as “the hole-in-the-wall’s hole” because one had to walk through a dance studio’s waiting room to get to the hallway which led back to the garage where KVPAC was housed.
From this humble beginning, support from students, parents and the community led to two subsequent moves to larger buildings. Our current studio is conveniently located in the heart of Katy at the Great Southwest Equestrian Center.
KVPAC’s scope of service has increased dramatically during its first decade. The first year approximately 60 young children participated in its programs and classes.
By comparison, last year, community outreach programs and events served more than 28,500 people with 70% served free-of-charge. In addition, 3,500 children, youth and adults enrolled in tuition-based classes and camps for a combined service population of more than 32,000.
