In the Student Spotlight: Chalie
Chalie has been a member of the KVPAC family for seven years. She is a Senior COMPANY member, works as student intern in the theatre department, is a junior in highschool and still finds to time to volunteer as well.
She is earning her Girl Scout Gold Award (the highest award) which requires more than 100 personal community service hours. She has taught several classes at Brookwood Community where citizens glazed and created a collection of funky wild hearts, some of which were used to create collaborative relief artwork series, Hearts 4 Arts. "Chalie was a pleasure to work with, she displayed a professional cheerful attitude and went above and beyond the requirements of the project," said Cindi Gardner, KVPAC Artistic Director. "She is a credit to the Girls Scouts, her parents and we appreciate her sharing her time and talents."
Chalie's performance resume is extensive for one her age and includes: Disney's The Lion King; Wonderland; Charlie and The Chocolate Factory; Oliver Twist; Disney's Aladdin; Sleepy Hollow; Dracula; Disney's Aristocats; Oz; Bah Humbug; and The Disney Road Show. In 2007, she performed in the Katy Community Theater's production of Steel Magnolias as Annelle Dupuy-Desoto.
She is busy behind the scenes too, where she recently completed an assistant director internship with two plays, The Velveteen Rabbit and Rudolph. KVPAC is proud to count Chalie as one of our "KVPAC Kids."
